Are you among the 1 in 6 women who is struggling to fall pregnant? You already know that planning for pregnancy may involve knowing your ovulation day and fertile days. Having intercourse at these times of the month, taking folic acid and all the other well known facts. But if these were the only important things then why hasn’t this pregnancy plan worked? There is one thing in common that we cannot escape but we can change easily and a reasonably short time.
I know this because as a result of changing this one thing, I got pregnant with my daughter the very first month we tired. And when we were planning pregnancy the second time around, I also got pregnant straight away and have never suffered a miscarriage. Much different to the family members around me who had changed their general health, but missed the one vital thing that I since discovered. So what is this health problem we are all carrying that most people don’t know about but it may change your pregnancy plan into a reality?

We are living in a world that is surrounded by environmental toxins. (Toxins I am referring to include herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals like mercury, lead, aluminum, copper etc) And soon you will understand why this maybe one of the biggest pregnancy health issues that can have the side effect of infertility, miscarriage and premature babies and even health issues in babies.
These toxins are everywhere,  every human who lives, breaths, eats and drinks is taking in daily toxins and worse still we are storing them in our body and unknowingly causing terrible problems. Not just infertility, reproductive issues or miscarriage but chronic disease and many other general health conditions can be blamed on toxins in our body.
You may be wondering how toxins and heavy metals can have anything to do with the reproductive system. Some of the toxins like mercury can be directly linked to infertility while others are not directly related. BUT our overall health will be the key to our body saying if it’s healthy enough to carry out a healthy pregnancy.

How Else Can Toxins Affect Planning for Pregnancy And Unborn Babies?

Mercury (which most people have in their bodies) can cause infertility problem, not only if the woman has it in her body but just as importantly, the man. A study was done in 2005 by the Environmental Working Group which was examining the blood from newborns umbilical cords. It found that on average there were 200 industrial chemicals, pollutants and pesticides already present in their blood, and this is before they were exposed to the open world! They included over 70 known carcinogens (cancer causing toxins). Other studies found high levels of mercury and cadmium in the mothers breast milk. This is very concerning when you know the side effects these toxins are having on our health.

I Am Living Proof That This Works

As I mentioned, I have had two easy and successful pregnancies thanks to me and my husband removing our toxic body burden. I also believe that eating plenty of leafy green vegetable, nuts, fruit and other supplements you may be missing in your diet is very important. Only changing what you eat and not removing the toxins is not enough for most people struggling to become pregnant. My older sister has had at least 5 miscarriages and has 3 children and although her food intake appeared to be very healthy, she was high in toxins, especially mercury after being a dental nurse for some years. She has since realised that if she had known about removing toxins, she may not have suffered these miscarriages.
